Transformation methods
« on: October 27, 2012, 03:47:45 PM »
Greetings, friends!

All the previous contests I am aware of feature a line like this:

  • Use any transformation method [magic, technology, chemical, genie etc.]

So, I was thinking, why not make things more interesting by
(a) requiring a specific method (or a choice of several, see below), and
(b) requiring that the transformation agent is specifically shown in at least one of the panels (just mentioning them in the text would not be enough).

For example, "chemical" methods could show potions, a laboratory, a vat of toxic waste, etc.  "Magical" methods could show witches, wizards, wands, crystal balls, spellbooks, etc.  "Technology" methods could show ray-guns, remote controls (a personal favorite of mine), transporter rooms, gynobots, operating rooms, bodysuits etc.  "Genie" methods could show actual djinn or their habitat (bottles, rings, etc.)

Additional methods could be permitted as needed.  In fact, a pre-contest poll could determine what methods would be acceptable for the contest.

Obviously, theme restrictions should not apply if method restrictions are used.

What say ye, yay or nay?

Peace,
Lurker.
