1940's theme
« on: July 25, 2011, 11:20:34 AM »
After watching Captain America I was reminded just how beautiful the 1940's woman was and how classy she could be.  This was a time period of a style of woman that has really never been seen since this era.  The World War Two theme could be incorporated.  You have many different ethic possibilities as well.  Spies and other possibilities.  It is just a thought.

I second this one!

I would really like to see the pretty dresess from old, though only American and British were pretty >.> Spanish looked like something of a mix between the gals from germany and france...Nothing really awesome although with the time in the 50's the fashion from America came adopted to Spain ;D

Too much dressed to my tastes ^_^ damn censorships

In Europe there was no time for prettiness so it was kind of going with the dark times in here...

I really like this idea.  [approve]

You could also make it more of a general different time zones theme like all pictures have to be pre-2000 or something.

Perhaps another topic could focus on THE FUTURE!! *makes appropriate 'wooooo' noises*

OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! I love this idea!!! I have waited so long for something like this. I have gigs of vintage pics to choose from. I would suggest that perhaps you do one decade a month. 40s, then 50s and so forth. I would also suggest that a requirement be made that all pics be vintage too. There are tons of tumbler and blogs out there where you can find pics to use.

I think AshleyM really likes this one.  *GIGGLES*  It would be challenging.  The time period could force the types of changes and how they occur.  Would we have the science aspect as much.  Would magic rule this one.  Could be anything that makes a creative push here.

Maybe this can happen.  Hope so.

Hmm. I like the idea, but maybe it could be a 'retro' or 'vintage' theme instead, so rather than just one decade, it could include the 30s and 50s.

I'm all for period captions, can't always say I like vintage pictures from those eras however.  However, I do admit I sometimes get era past the 70's & 60's mixed up.  Some fashions and trends overlap every now and then.

It can be hard to find decent pictures from way back when, but you can find them every now and then. Plus, there's plenty of retro-style modern pictures that people could probably get away with.
