Courtney (Courtney's Haven 10/03/11 to 10/15/11) is a name known throughout the Haven it seems. Why? Because she's always so helpful! Like only 1 other member has, Courtney made a huge splash when she first joined the site. At the time our costs had just multiplied tenfold and she came through and guaranteed we'd be safely funded for months. After making a donation, she started up her own little fundraiser, one where she encouraged people to caption and the best received a donation in their name, a concept now being used again by others. Among other things, she's working on coding something so secret I can't even tell you what it is, but when it's done it will change the Haven forever! And on a personal note, if not for Courtney's efforts last year in rallying contributions to just help me stay fed, I don't know where I'd be right now. She is truly an angel among us!
Sara (Sara's Haven from 08/14/11 to 08/27/11) is actually one of the people that many of you don't know how much she's done, but the evidence is all around you. The Haven may have been my dream, but there was no way I had the skills necessary to make it happen. Enter Sara, who also did not have the skills to make it happen, but together we learned bit by bit what we needed to know and found the tools we needed for a community to find it's root. Regardless of the other things she's done for me over the years, we all owe Sara our gratitude for the part she played in setting the Haven's very foundation.
Dementia (Dee's Haven from 08/07/11 to 08/13/11) certainly faced a few challenges of her own during the past year and a half, but even then she found time to help a friend in need. Whether it be a few kind words here, just a quiet conversation, or doing what she could to help the fundraising effort her support has been ever present. Is she really the dark goth girl she likes to tell everyone, or Daddy's little princess? Sometimes I just wonder...
