Pretty straight, perhaps realistic journalism in an environment where GB has become established as an 'act of God' that doesn't deserve sensationalism - but how likely that would be to happen is definitely a topic for discussion. Easy to imagine some groups reacting as they now do to HIV, calling it a divine judgement on homosexuals, and the media always on the lookout for the more salacious angles on cases. Perhaps some tales could be told about the early stages of the GB phenomenon, and how the official line developed - the description given in For a Girl makes it all seem so terribly reasonable and civilised. Would it be like that? How about other nations... could be very interesting to explore how non-anglo saxon cultures would react.
I think the GB concept is one that could allow some very interesting and subtle issues to be explored. 'For a Girl' made a very good (though not faultless) start, and I hope that other authors will be tempted to write in this universe.
