You know sometimes things just happen when you are running to class first thing in the morning and you are running low on the bean water. A black cat crossing your path, yeah not going to bother until I get my coffee.
Stumble up the stairs into the building and some Jock slams into me. I give him a growl which is the only thing anyone will get from me in the morning before I drink a cup of the elixir of the bean. Books go flying and well shit! Icy glare given as I gather my things and a curse is thrown.
“Tabitha,” the Matriarch of my coven might say, “You shouldn’t be throwing curses. Especially not this early in the morning.”
Middle finger rises and I grumble before rushing to class. When I finally get to my desk, the one in the far back so I can… I don’t know! Whatever! I go through my things and find everything there except for one thing. Shit! Shit! Shit! My spell book.***************************
You are just walking along and you see something laying in the bushes. You look around for a moment to see if anyone else has seen it before going over to the bush to get a closer look. You crouch down and see it is a small book. You are carrying enough of those but curiosity and everything. Moments later the book is sitting on the others you are carrying and you are entering class. You take a moment and flip through the book to see what it is about and find it is filled with odd poems? None of them are... You wonder why the air around you suddenly feels like a storm is coming but before you can flip through the book more the class starts…
Later, you tell yourself.
Okay this year’s caption contest is on the book you found and the weird little poems contained inside. What do they mean and why does the air around you feel like a storm is a brewing and making your hair stand up?
Below are twelve strange poems from the book you found and over the year you have to figure out what they mean through your caps. You can pick any of one of the strange poems below each month to figure out, so like everyone can pick different ones each month which is random chaos in contest form. Oh and once you try to figure out one of the poems you cannot repeat it, ever ever. You can try but all you get is some quote from “Fifty shades of gray” or “Captain Underpants”.
With all strange poems, things will happen if you read enough of them. What that means you will just have to find out.
New rule - The strange little words you have picked have to be in each cap!
- One size to another from a giant to a mouse. These words will command how the world is seen.
- From out of the pages you leap. KAPOW! BOOM! BANG! In colored tights, you hope to hide the mild-mannered inside.
- The looking glass whispers what it sees. Light darker than a shadow and shadow brighter than any light in a world of shattered glass.
- Giggle and glee is all that shall be.. Don’t worry. Don’t think, for unicorns dance in pink bubble gum skies.
- With water splash, hot or cold. Wash away what hides the you inside.
- Twin mounds swell from bumps to mountains. Filling the cups and heavy in the hands. May eyes fall on you filled with want or jealousy.
- With borrowed clothes worn and awkward. In a blink, without a stitch, they will fit like they were meant.
- Wrapped in black with heels that click. No way to hide the swells and curves. No way to hide the attitude that the wraps bring.
- The hands turn both ways forward and back. With a spin, you will find years added or taken away.
- High in sky the moon shines. Its light calls to something since. With a howl or a whimper, it comes free until the starts to shine with a new day.
- What once was yours you give away. What once was another’s is yours in trade. With an open hand, you agree and shake with one, no fear of fingers crossed.[/i]
- A mirror’s reflection will be seen when none can reflect. Two voices the same when one was heard.
1- 12 entries - winner gets one cap
13-20 entries - winner gets two caps
21-30 entries - winner gets three caps and the runner-up gets one cap.
Yes the more entries, the more request caps you may get, on top of the award of course.
Rules:
The rules have changed from last month (see above for the new rule.) There is an open discussion. I want it to stay a civil discussion too. Basically, instead of voting on 3 places, you will vote on only 2. First place will get something special in addition to the award. If a tie occurs a secret panel of judges will be contacted and the tie will be broken.
- You can make up to 2 contest submissions. Please make a separate topic for each unique caption.
- You can use up to as many panels you want. It is recommended to keep in around 3 panels of any pictures or drawings to tell your story.
- Do NOT reuse the same picture for more than one caption.
- Use any transformation method [magic, technology, chemical, genie etc.] or motivation [greed, envy, bad luck, fate, environment, punishment etc.] you want, just make sure it has to do with the theme.
- Submit captions that you made yourself exclusively for the contest; don't re-post someone else's art or captions you've made for a trade. It should be all new and original.
- All Captions must meet the site's caption guidelines and general rules.
- Most important: Have fun!

The last day to submit entries will be the 30th of January (when I roll out of bed). Voting will then open later that day if possible and be open for two weeks after polls are opened.
