Actually - (s)he's buying more!  What's in the closet doesn't just appear, but changes, and it disintegrates as soon as it comes off.  Sure, you can just buy a lot of $5 t-shirts and hope the cheap windbreaker turns into the right coat for the day, but this curse might get really impractical if it only changes things so much!  Like, you might wind up sleeping naked just for cost-saving reasons, and let's not get into shoes...

Still, never doing laundry might make it worthwhile.
